Nippon Paint’s $1.35B APAC Expansion
Marking a significant milestone in our regional expansion strategy, Nippon Paint Group has signed definitive agreements valued at USD 1.35 billion to acquire Akzo Nobel’s decorative paints businesses across Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. This strategic move adds the Dulux brand to the group’s Southeast Asian portfolio and integrates vital new manufacturing and R&D capabilities, including three production sites and an R&D Centre in Malaysia, to secure long-term regional growth.

Protecting Critical Australian Infrastructure
Leveraging extensive technical expertise to protect massive public assets, Dulux Protective Coatings recently delivered tailored polyurea and polyaspartic waterproofing solutions for over 60,000 square metres of concrete at Sydney’s new $700 million Fish Market development. Concurrently, the team is safeguarding the 5.8-kilometre Lucinda Jetty—a vital sugar export asset in North Queensland—using the high-performance Dulux Duremax GFX system to withstand severe marine corrosion and extreme weather.

Immersive Sensory Colour Design Events
Connecting architectural design with immersive human experiences, NPTU launched the new COLORMONY brand at the “COLOR IS LIFE” event in Tokyo, engaging professionals with live formulation demonstrations from a comprehensive 1,300-shade line-up. In a similar sensory initiative, Nippon Paint Thailand collaborated with Homepaint to host an experiential “Colour & Wine Pairing” evening for more than 40 design professionals in Bangkok. Guided by a sommelier, the workshop explored the connection between colour psychology, texture, and aroma, framing the Trend Beyond Colours 2026-27 forecast, Resonate. Designers tested real-world specifications using the 2,338-shade Nippon Paint Fan Deck alongside digital specification tools built to support precise architectural planning.

‘Worry-Free’ Post-Paint Quality Guarantee
Nippon Paint Thailand Decorative partnered with major home improvement retailers—including Thai Watsadu, HomePro, Mega Home, Global House, Dohome, and Hardware House—to launch the Nippon Paint Worry Free customer programme. The initiative provides a one-year post-application quality guarantee for participating coatings registered through the LINE Official Account, setting a clear standard for after-sales support across the domestic market.
